District Key Leadership
Betty has been apart of Scouting for 28 years when her son Sean got involved, whom went from Tiger to Eagle. Betty started her Scouting career as an Assistant Cub Leader and has moved on from there. While in the Cub program she was the Arts and Crafts Director for Saratoga Day camp. Betty has held many positions in Scouting which have included, Den Leader, Assistant Scoutmaster, Committee Chair for the Crew, (which she founded), FOS chair, Training Chair, Finance Chair, Council Development Team, NYLT Director, and now Turning Point District Chair just to name a few. Betty has been on many Committees on both District and Council levels. She has also earned several Training Knots along with winning the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver Award. Betty's hobbies include: reading, needlepoint, and spending time with her Grandchildren.
Frank was a Scout in Troop 4022 Corinth in the 1970s. He rejoined Scouting when his son John became a Tiger Cub. Frank has been a Asst. Den Leader, Den Leader, Asst. Cubmaster, Asst. Scoutmaster and Scoutmaster. Frank has became involved with our district and became the District Commissioner. He soon became the Wakpominee Day Camp Director. Soon after that Frank was offered the Camp Directors position for Camp Wakpominee. Frank is a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow, District Award of Merit recipient, and most recently The Silver Beaver. Frank enjoys working with the Scouts. He is a retired Police Officer. Frank also enjoys SCUBA Diving, Golfing, volunteering at Wakpominee, and Scouting. Frank is also a lover of K9s and you will always see Erwin the Wakpominee German Shepherd with Frank. He loves to play ball and loves everyone.
District Vice-Chairs
Peter is a long time scouter, and retired member of the US Navy. He loves being outdoors, camping, hiking, boating, and swimming. He has been a BSA Aquatics director, BSA Field Sport director, and provisional scoutmaster at multiple summer camps. Peter had a life long dream to complete Woodbadge training (like his father before him), which he completed in 2019. Peter currently is on the troop committee of 4018 in Greenfield NY and serves as the Training Vice Chairman for the Turning Point District.
Ellen has been a part of scouting for 40 years as a member of Troop 6004 in Glens Falls and District and Council. Ellen has been married to her husband Ed for 54 years. Ellen's son Grant is an Eagle Scout, all 3 them are Vigil members of The Order Of The Arrow Wakpominee Lodge. Ellen likes to crochet, read books and enjoy guiding Life Scouts on their Eagle Scout Rank Projects and accomplishing their goals. Scouting has been a big part of her life.
Chet has been in scouting on and off since the 1980's, earning his Eagle Scout in 1986, the Commissioners Arrowhead Award in 2010 and his Wood Badge beads in 2018. As an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 4016 in Saratoga Springs he led a troop contingent to Tahosa High Adventure Base in Colorado in 2018 and continues to focus on hiking, backpacking and outdoor skills with the boys. In his personal time Chet enjoys skiing in Vermont, camping on Lake George, riding his motorcycle and working around his house.
District Roles
Mary grew up in a Scouting family. Her father was a Unit Commissioner, Roundtable Commissioner and District Commissioner. Her mother started her Scouting career as a Den Mother and was a Cub Scout Leader Trainer. Both her parents are Silver Beaver recipients and have earned their Wood Badges. When Mary was 13 her entire family went to Philmont. Mary was a Girl Scout and earned the First Class Rank, today known as the Gold Award. As her children grew Mary was very involved in their activities. She served on two PTAs, as Pack 11 Committee Chair, Cub Day Camp Site Director, Cub Scout Leader Trainer, Sunday School Teacher, Senior Youth Group Advisor, and Girl Scout Leader. Mary is an ordained Deacon and Elder in the Presbyterian Church, Board Member of the Women's Association, and active in their Prayer Shawl Ministry. Mary's favorite hobby is crocheting. She makes shawls, blankets, hats and scarves that are donated to those in need. Mary is retired from the South Glens Falls Central School District where she was an executive secretary.

Tom Duffy ,been with Scouting in our area almost 40 years, on the Eagle Board, Merit Badge Councilor Citizenship in the Community and World as well as for Reading. was on the Good Scout Dinner committee for 25 years and also the Wakpominee Golf Classic Committee for 25 years also a  Unit Commissioner and helps out where needed. Hobbies: gardening , study helpful plants,  walking in the woods, archaeology and reading.
John has been a registered Scout/Scouter for 60 years and has been a leader in Packs, Troops, Crews, and Posts, as well as at the District and Council levels in three Councils. Since moving to Saratoga Springs from Long Island in 2014, he has been involved both at the District and Unit levels as part of Saratoga and Turning Point Districts.
Marie has been a part of scouting for 8yrs and has dedicated her time towards her Troop as the Committee Chairman, and is very active Leader in troop activities especially camping. Marie is an Associate Adviser in her local OA Chapter, and actively participates in coordination of Events. Marie also is a Director of Shooting Sports for Camp Wakpominee beginning in summer of 2021, is a shooting sports merit badge counselor, and participates on a number of committee's including Properties committee, Activities Committee, Shooting Sports Committee and is a supporting Unit Commissioner for her local district. She enjoys any and all outdoor activities, but is most passionate in hammocking, paddle boarding, shooting sporting clays and hiking.
