He also served as Chair of events such as the Golf Tournament and Sporting Clays for Scouting. Dave was the original chair of this event and played a key role in its success. He was an Eagle Scout of Troop 16 and a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award.
Dave’s extensive connection to the community extended through his service as a volunteer firefighter and as past Chairman of the Ulster County Chamber of Commerce.
A graduate of the U.S. Army War College, Dave achieved the rank of Colonel and previously commanded the Regional Training Institute at Camp Smith in Peekskill. His 35-year military career included domestic emergency response efforts following the September 11 terrorist attacks and Hurricane Sandy, a combat deployment to Iraq, and international training missions in Israel, South Africa, Brazil, and Peru.
After earning his A.A. in Business Administration from SUNY Ulster and his B.A. in Accounting from Siena College, Dave joined Daniel D. Gagnon, CPA, and became a Managing Partner. His work included individual and corporate tax services, business financial operations, and supervision of audits for nonprofit organizations and fire districts.
Dave was a pillar of the Scouting movement and the communities he served. His leadership, friendship, and lifetime of service left a lasting impact on countless individuals and organizations. As the original chair of the Sporting Clays for Scouting event, his vision and dedication helped establish a tradition that continues today.
