We are looking for someone who possesses the drive to win, success in bringing in more youth and their families to join the Adventure of Scouting, and to bring awareness to Scouting opportunities year-round for boys and girls the ability to build lasting relationships in communities. Responsibilities:
•Encourage and support the unit in the development of a yearly recruitment plan.
•Provide inclusive opportunities for youth to join existing units.
•Schedule and support units in spring & fall unit recruitment activities, back to school nights, andopen houses, etc.
•Works in conjunction with Unit, Commissioner Staff, and key unit level volunteers to increasethe youth membership enrollment in Packs, Troops, and Crews.
•Support unit/district leaders with membership resources/materials
•Positive and enthusiastic to get volunteers excited on the scouting program and volunteerrecruitment.
•Flexible hours to work evenings for recruitment/ joining nights.
Skills and qualifications:
•Prior experience with nonprofit organizations.
•Outstanding customer relations, friendly, personable, and professional.
•Commitment to adaptability, problem-solving, honesty, and teamwork.
•Self-motivated, initiator, ability to juggle multiple deadlines, and work with limited supervision.
•Work collaboratively and with professionalism.
•Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule (evenings, weekends).

Travel Requirements:
Travel 60% during spring and fall recruitment events to support units. Must have access to reliable transportation to travel. Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to motor vehicles is required.

Scout Reach Program Lead
Part-time position- 20hrs $17.50/hour
About Scout Reach Program
ScoutReach is Twin Rivers Council, Boy Scouts of America’s traditional Scouting program delivered in a non-traditional way to youth from hard-to-serve communities in urban areas where the benefit of Scouting is needed, and historically difficult to provide. ScoutREACH is our commitment to making sure that every child has an opportunity to be a Scout, regardless of their circumstances, neighborhood, or ethnic background. The organized program provides a safe environment for youth with positive adult role models who teach kids about healthy living, introduce future career opportunities, and reinforce character development.
Position Responsibilities
Execute high quality Scouting activities for Cub Scouts boys and girls ages 5-10 in an afterschool or in school setting at sites/schools located in underserved communities in accordance with the Twin Rivers Council’s Mission Statement. Necessary training is provided for all positions.
Principal Responsibilities
- Leading and planning weekly Cub Scout focused
- Ensure the delivery of quality programs and become familiar with program materials and follow the prescribed lessons plans.
- Prepare the program materials, scouting literature and other support needed according to the weekly lesson plan.
- Complete Youth Protection Training, this is Scouting and leader specific training.
- Assisting with promotional activities in the community to help recruit more youth and adults into
- Registration and advancement paperwork
- Serve as an ambassador of the Scouting Program who is always striving to deliver the mission of the program.
Skills and qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Successful completion of Youth Protection training (done online on myscouting.org)
- Submission of a BSA Adult volunteer application which includes a background check.
- Prior experience/desire to work with elementary aged youth.
- Interest in community service, the environment, and team building
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
- Be dependable, organized, flexible, and have a sense of humor.
- Enjoyment of the outdoors
- Reliable transportation
- Prior Scouting experience is not required.
